Greenhaven Memorial Gardens is a hybrid cemetery that consists of 32 acres. We provide services for the green/natural burial, traditional burial, and cremation memorialization options. Our National Memory Forest has plenty of room to grow and continue to offer our community options for generations to come.

Established in 1992, Greenhaven Memorial Gardens & Life Tribute Center is a perpetual care cemetery located in Richland County, Elgin, South Carolina. We are centrally located to Blythewood, Columbia, Elgin, Lugoff, and Camden, SC.
We maintain five manicured acres with three gardens for traditional and cremation burial, private mausoleum estates, cremation estates, benches, and columbariums. In 2018 we created a Natural Burial area that provides options for traditional and cremation burial. There are winding trails throughout the cemetery for visitors to enjoy. The hybrid of a perpetual care cemetery and natural burial option ensures double protection in perpetuity with 30 acres reserved for future generations. We appreciate the value and special place our pets hold in our families and hearts. We offer a variety of options for your pet. Greenhaven has been nationally recognized for our Heroes Burial Flag & Memorial program and offers various events throughout the year. We have several ongoing projects that include a wee free library, a Monarch Waystation, certification by the South Carolina Wildlife Federation for our efforts to increase awareness and create beautiful landscapes that support pollinators, and a Carolina Fence Garden. We proudly support our community and work with numerous volunteers who provide inspiration, perspiration, and dedication to the continued improvement of the cemetery.
Our Life Tribute Center provides families support and resources with end-of-life planning, headstone, and memorial options and designing, officiant services, notary services, and grief recovery.
I am reflecting on the reason why Diane and I chose Greenhaven Memorial Gardens & Life Tribute Center for our final resting place.
As I mentioned, years ago, the first time I drove past the gardens, my thought was that would be a place that I would like to have as my final resting place. Little did I know, years later, that we would choose Greenhaven as our joint resting place.
I have always been impressed with the look of the grounds and the peaceful setting, most importantly the well-kept appearance. Diane and I were impressed when we finally sat down with you to discuss our planning. Instead of telling us what our options were, you asked great questions to help define what we wanted. There was no pressure and the low-key discussion helped us understand the value of our decisions.
After sharing our stories and ideas, you recommended the Memory Forest, a natural burial area that met our needs and desires. We are pleased with the design of our memorial and the time you took to make sure it represented us as a couple. It is one of a kind and beautiful.
When Diane went to be with our Lord and Savior, I was able to be present in the moment and not making difficult decisions in haste. You made the experience easy and personal.

A land preserve is typically held as a land trust or conservation easement dedicated to the permanent preservation and stewardship of natural working lands for the public good.
A perpetual care cemetery is licensed and inspected to ensure the safety of visitors. Funds are maintained to ensure proper maintenance of roadways, sidewalks, and property. The property can only be used as a cemetery and cannot be split or sold for other purposes.
The National Memory Forest requires little maintenance (cleaning up fallen limbs or debris). This ensures the safety of visitors.
This is a personal choice. A biodegradable casket or shroud can be used for a traditional burial. We offer a diverse selection of biodegradable caskets, urns, and shrouds that are suitable for burial.
We will prepare the area for burial with a set-up and lowering device for a casket or body wrapped in a shroud. Family and friends are welcome to gather around for the service. We can provide chairs and a tent is available.
We offer a diverse selection of memorials made from natural materials such as granite and stone. We can accommodate and help design military and religious memorials.
We offer traditional, cremation, and natural burial.
We encourage families to plant wildflowers or shrubs in certain areas. We have a designated area for individual trees selected by the family. The trees are approximately 4 – 10 feet tall and provided by a local nursery that warranties the tree for six months. We take your investment seriously and want to ensure the tree of your choice is right for the area and growing zone.
